HTC has finally unveiled its new smartphone, the HTC U11, which is touted to be the world's first smartphone with the new "Edge Sense" technology that allows users to squeeze the phone to actually perform a couple of actions.

The HTC U 11 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution, so it will be smaller than U Ultra when it comes to physical dimensions. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, while some worldwide markets will also get a version with 6GB/128GB. Around on the front of the U11 there's a 16-megapixel camera for all of your selfie needs. Like many other flagships, the HTC U11 supports all the latest connectivity standards, including 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C, NFC, single and dual-SIM as well as DisplayPort and HTC Connect. HTC U 11 will be available in five colour options - wonderful silver, sapphire blue, brilliant black, ice white and solar red. There is no information provided regarding the price but it is rumored to be roughly Rs 50,000.

As we had heard from the leaks, the USP of the smartphone is a feature called Edge Sense.

Internally there's an 835 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It comes with Type C to 3.5mm adapter which makes the users not to worry about their old phones. Speaking of the latter, the HTC U11 has been stuffed with 3 AIs in the form of Google Assistant, Alexa, and the company's own Sense Companion. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS with HTC Sense on top of it. In terms of colors, it looks like the flagship smartphone will be available in at least three different color options.

The camera on the HTC U11 is one of the main highlights here as it has a 12MP UltraPixel 3 camera. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech. The other two smartphones that have been launched in the same family are the U Ultra and the U Play. Camera features include Face Detection, Pro mode with manual control, 32-second long exposure, and RAW format support, HDR Boost, Panorama, and Hyperlapse. The smartphone is also Hi-Res Audio certified and comes with a similar BoomSound Hi-Fi setup like the HTC 10. HTC boasts that the 12-megapixel camera on the upcoming flagship has a DxOMark score of 90, the highest DxOMark score ever - beating Google Pixel's score of 89.

For those not on Team Yellow, an unlocked version of the HTC U11 in Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, and Amazing Silver will be available for presale beginning today at and, shipping in June.
