Jason Bateman Inks Deal For More 'Arrested Development'

When the fourth season arrived four years ago, as excited as fans were, they were disappointed to find that the episodes focused on each of the characters mostly isolated to their own storylines, rarely crossing paths.

Arrested Development's delayed fourth season definitely lacked a certain...Arrested Development-ness due, in large part, to the main cast all becoming too successful, and too busy, to film scenes together for the rapid-fire chemistry that gave the show its legendary status in the first place. The 15-episode Netflix season was well received in 2013, leaving many wanting more. It's been almost four years since Season 4 of Arrested Development premiered on Netflix, and talk of a fifth season has been swirling pretty much since.

Bateman tweeted on Friday: "Look very probable I'm going to put some miles on the Stair Car this summer".

Producer Mitch Hurwitz past year said he was "very close" to cutting a deal with Netflix for a fifth season. "We're plugging along. It's a long, complex deal", Sarandos reportedly said.

There has been considerable buzz surrounding a new season of the comedy for quite some time with cast members and producers teasing the likelihood of Season 5, though noting that scheduling issues caused some difficulty.
