Windows of Tejas Express damaged ahead of maiden journey

The train will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai at 5 a.m. on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 24 and arrive at Karmali at 1.30 p.m. on the same day.

Train No. 22119 Mumbai CST - Karmali, Tejas Superfast. will leave from Mumbai CST at 05:00 hrs on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (Five days a week). It's halting places through this journey will beDadar, Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri and Kudal.This high-speed train will be running at 200 km per hour.

This train will have one executive AC chair auto with 56 seating capacity and 12 AC chair cars with 78 seat capacity of each coach, Sharma said.

There will also be tea, coffee vending machines, snack tables, magazines, entertainment and local cuisine.

"Since the train is equipped with better facilities, the fare will also be slightly higher compared to normal mail and express services", said a CR officer. The train features one Executive First AC coach and 12 Chair-car coaches, which have been manufactured at Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala.

The train has been furnished with bio-vacuum toilets in all the coaches, including hand dryers, touch-less water taps and water level indicator as well.

For now Indian Railways has chose to ply the Tejas Express on Mumbai-Goa, Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Chandigarh routes.

Both executive class and chair cars will have seats with improved couplers, which will make the journey jerk-free and comfortable at high speeds. However, given the current condition of the Indian tracks, the Tejas Express will run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph.

The service will be reduced to three days a week during its monsoon schedule - from June 10 to October 31, the Railways Ministry said on Twitter. The train (Train No 22119/22120) will between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai and Karmali. A journey from Mumbai to Ratnagiri on this fully air conditioned train will set you back by Rs 835 for a chair vehicle seat and Rs 1,785 for an executive chair auto seat.
