Serge Gnabry had earlier mentioned that he would be leaving Werder Bremen after spending just one year with them.

Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Serge Gnabry from Werder Bremen for a fee believed to be in the region of €8 million.

Gnabry will join the Bundesliga champions on July 1, boosting manager Carlo Ancelotti's options on the wings alongside Arjen Robben, Kingsley Coman, Douglas Costa and Franck Ribery.

The forthcoming summer transfer market could bring another move for Serge Gnabry, however, as the young Germany global is likely to be immediately loaned out of Bayern Munich, according to reports from German media outlet Kicker. "Serge has improved a lot during his time in Bremen".

The Germany global left the Emirates to join Werder Bremen last summer, before activating a clause which allowed him to leave the club.

Initially at the Stuttgart academy, Gnabry shifted to Arsenal in 2011 and spent five seasons with the Gunners.

However, a knee injury halted his progress and he then slipped out of Bremen coach Alexander Nouri's plans as he started just one Bundesliga game in the final two months of the season.

But the lure of first team football meant a return to Germany, for whom he won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in 2016. "It's going to be an exciting time for me, and I'm really looking forward to it".
