A football player at Kent State University has died following a morning workout.

Heintz is from Kenton, south of Findlay, and was an incoming offensive lineman for the Golden Flashes. A cause of death has yet to be determined. Like the majority of his new teammates, Heintz was on campus this week for summer classes and team workouts.

He was planning to study marketing and entrepreneurship in Kent State's college of business administration, according to a school release. Jason Bitsko, another offensive lineman, died in 2014.

He was pronounced dead at 11:34 a.m. DePerro said Heintz's body will be transported to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office for a postmortem Wednesday morning.

"What a great kid", a follow-up tweet said. Investigators are now in the process of collecting hospital records, gathering reports of any medical history, and interviewing any players who was with Heintz at the time he collapsed.

The Portage County Coroner's Office in OH told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer that it was too soon to determine the cause of Heintz's death and that it could take several weeks to learn the answer. "Your football family will miss you".

This is a tough pill to swallow no matter who the passing player is. One of them said Heintz was breathing heavy, "but everybody was". He was taken to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center where doctors reportedly worked on him for two hours. Heintz had a full ride scholarship to play football. He was found unresponsive in his room.
