Paul Pogba believes José Mourinho's willingness to do "extreme things" is what makes him so successful.

Last month, Jose Mourinho declared that the goalkeeper will still be at Manchester United when pre-season kicks off later on this summer.

It was revealed that the Portuguese boss has racked up a £298,000 bill after staying in the Riverside Suite for a year.

"He is the Special One because he wins", Pogba told Sky in Germany. "It is hard but I'm definitely changing and I feel myself getting stronger and more energetic from playing games each week".

"We had never trained it before but it worked out well. He deserves his name", he added.

The club is still chasing Alvaro Morata and have agreed on personal terms with the forward and are hoping to settle on a fee with Real Madrid after bidding £60m for the player. If I went on loan somewhere that I can play easily, sit back and just do my thing, of course, it'd be good but, at United, we always had the ball and I've had to do things I'm not used to since I came here. He trusted and defended me.

Despite criticism aimed at Pogba this season, the 24-year-old created more chances (57), completed more passes (1,812) and completed more take ons (75) than any other Manchester United player in the league.

"I arrived at Manchester United and do you know how many of these players were champions?"

"Paul is not really appreciated by certain sections of the media but when he's not in the team, I think he's missed".

"I promised that you would not see me in football stadiums, and I stopped negotiating for players and being anxious".

"It's true that the results weren't as positive as we had wished, but we reached our goals".
