'March Against Sharia' Planned Across The US

The target in Orlando was a gay nightclub and the perpetrator allegedly pledged loyalty to ISIS. When he proposed the idea of an anti-Sharia rally, he says he got a flood of responses. "My email has just been pummeled with activity". "Freedom to practice one's religion in peace is afforded to each of us by the U.S. Constitution and we will continue to defend it vigorously".

DENISE ZAMORA: So this is going to be our meeting spot.

You might think the title of this article is a little alarmist and click-baity, but this is only because we are using something that all knuckle-dragging, micro-phallus fascists hate: logic. So many people confuse that because it sounds like a law, the husband must do this, et cetera.

Riverside, Calif.'s Press-Enterprise reports that one of the rallies will take place at the site of the memorial to victims of the 2015 San Bernardino, Calif., terrorist attacks. I wasn't educated. So I started learning a little bit about, you know, everything. In fact, more acts of violence and terror have been committed in the USA by homegrown hate groups and far-right militants than by Muslims. ACT is "committed to protecting women and children from Sharia Law", which it described as "including honor killing and Female Genital Mutilation".

The movement, however, appears to be in danger of veering in an extremist direction. ACT for America has a somewhat militant attitude toward Islam, and the marches are now attracting a large number of far-right sympathizers.

ACT canceled its Arkansas march this week after the SPLC publicized Roper's longtime involvement in neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups.

Bukhari said CAIR will sponsor an "Ask a Muslim" booth at the ACT for America rally to answer any questions and dispel myths "in hopes that we might have some communications". They want their marriages to be valid under God and there's various procedures that they have to do to follow that they want their inheritance distributed according to Quranic distribution but they're not talking about taking over state law. And ultimately, want to send a message to Muslims that they are not welcome in our nation and, of course, endgame, on our planet.

Rallies similar to this weekend's that have been held in Portland and Berkeley, Calif., turned violent, resulting in numerous arrests and confiscation by law-enforcement officials of large numbers of risky weapons, so these marches will likely involve "acts unsafe to human lives" (check). According to the march organizer's web page, there will be two such marches in MI tomorrow: one in Lansing and another in Southfield.

The prospect of violent confrontations at the anti-Sharia marches have local law enforcement authorities on edge.

Participants include the Oathkeepers, an anti-government militant group that ACT enlisted to provide "security", according to the Oathkeepers website.

GJELTEN: Stewart Rhodes is the Oath Keepers president. We condemn the June 10 event promoting Islamophobia, and urge community members to educate themselves about Islam (see resources below). We may not want them in our societies, just as they would not want us in theirs.

"Timed during the Islamic month of Ramadan, when Muslims around the world fast during the daylight hours, these protests have been disingenuously branded "March Against Sharia" and explicitly target Muslims at a time when hatred and bigotry has swept the nation", said the letters, which went out Thursday to the mayors of cities including Atlanta, Boston, Houston, Indianapolis, New York and Orlando.
