As India is battling out against Bangladesh in the semi-finals of the on-going Champions Trophy, the BCCI has announced 15 man squad for the next battle against West Indies.

From the current Champions Trophy squad, only Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested.

India have announced a strong squad for the West Indies tour, which comprises five ODIs and one-off T20 global, starting June 23. The former has come back to global cricket after a gap of six months following a surgery for hamstring injury.

Kumble is in the mix to stay on in the role, but had to reapply for the position. This is despite the fact that Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai's recent assertion that Kumble will remain as the coach for the West Indies tour. Moreover, he is one of the candidates in contention for the extension and the CAC is apparently keen to extend his contract for another year.

Ganguly has been an advocate of giving free hand to captain.

"Cricket has always been about the players", stated a senior BCCI official when asked to comment on Kumble.

Pant, 19, hit two fifties for Delhi Daredevils in the recent IPL edition, following on from a 326-ball 308 in the domestic Ranji Trophy last season.

While Pant made his T20I debut against England in Bengaluru in February, Kuldeep made his first worldwide appearance in the fourth Test against Australia at Dharamshala. Yadav piqued interest in his Test debut, clinching four wickets in India's series victory over Australia in March.
